Having Had Mercy, Have Mercy
A longtime FR listener from India wrote me in a private message:
"Sir, I want to ask you some questions
What kind of prayers should we offer to God now that our salvation is no longer possible after 2011?
Meaning, should we pray to God for our salvation? Should we pray for our daily lives? What type of prayer should we pray?"
My response:
We can pray regarding salvation for self/others by praying to God, "having had mercy, have mercy".
This means that we recognize God shut the door of heaven on May 21, 2011. And that He is not saving since that date. Therefore, God's mercy upon us or someone else in salvation would have had to occurred prior to that date. And our only hope would be that God saved us then-and yet for His own purposes that salvation has perhaps not yet shown itself in our lives-therefore we pray "have mercy" that is may the Lord's work of salvaton accomplished at that past time now show forth itself in our present lives.
