Birthday in the Bible
Thanks everyone for your birthday greetings. I turned 65. I feel much, much older than that though-as I'm sure many of you can relate. Living each year on earth in these last days of its existence are perhaps not equivalent to dog years but they definitely feel longer than the normal length of time.
In the Bible, we only find the word "birthday" mentioned 3 times. Twice in the gospels having to do with Herod's birthday wherein John the Baptist lost his head. And once in the book of Genesis when Joseph interpreted the butler and the baker's dreams. Significantly, the dream of the baker also indicated the loss of his head that would occur on Pharaoah's birthday.
Its very curious that the word birthday is found only 3 times and only in reference to Herod (a type of Satan) and Pharaoah (also a type of Satan) and in both places it involves the loss of someone's head.
