A man on X commented on an EBF video:
"Can you please e-mail (___________) me a list of verses that you use to conclude that salvation is no longer available. I am a student of the Bible more than 45 years and am very familiar with Brother Camping's teachings. I do not need commentary just a list of verses that I might compare scriptures to consider such a conclusion."
EBF reply:
Matthew 24:29 compared to Mark 13:24. The lights of the gospel are put out immediately after the tribulation (tribulation concluded May 21, 2011). Mark 13:24 tells us this darkening of the sun, etc. takes place in a period of time called, "those days".
All Scripture that speaks of Judgment Day indicates there's no further salvation taking place. The problem some have is that they do not believe it is Judgment Day nor do they believe it is a prolonged Judgment Day.
God was longsuffering patient during the Day of Salvation. But once the time for the world's final judgment comes He no longer is holding back His wrath. See James 5:7. 2 Peter 3:15.
Jesus said there are 12 hours in the day (John 11:9). He gave a parable of workers in the vineyard working 12 hours with the last hour especially set apart (Matthew 20:1-12). After 12 hours the Lord comes with His reward (pay) and reckons with those servants and everyone receives a penny (compare Revelation 22:12).
Understanding this, let's read:
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
How long is the day? According to Jesus it is 12 hours. What does Jesus do during the day? He works the works of Him who sent Him (see John 6:28,29-this is the work of God that ye believe). After the 12 hour day ends (especially after that 11th to 12th hour which was the hour of great tribulation) then Christ can no longer do the work of saving. "the night cometh, when no man can work").
The door shut
Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Jesus does not say I know ye not "who you are"; but rather I know ye not "whence ye are". Whence means from where. The same word is used of the great multitude:
Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said unto me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, ...
From whence came that great multitude? The answer, "these are they which came out of great tribulation".
The very same great tribulation that concluded on May 21, 2011 with the shut door of heaven as the 7000 year/7 day timeline from Genesis 7:4 proved.
So, those saved out of the great tribulation were saved by the latter (latter = last) rain. And the Husbandman of James 5:7 waiteth patiently for the precious fruit of the earth (the elect) until He receive the early (sometimes called the first) and latter rain.
God's program for the N.T. era was 2 outpourings of the Holy Spirit (2 rains) that would bring in 2 batches of fruit. Firstfruits (elect saved during Church Age) and final fruits called the great multitude in Revelation 7.
Once the latter rain concluded at the time of the end of the great tribulation period-all the fruit was produced. And the door to heaven shuts as Judgment Day begins. Which is why Christ's asks the question in Luke 13:24,25, "from whence came ye"? There's no more rain and no more fruit to come-therefore from which outpouring of the Spirit are you from? And the answer is that they are not from either of the 2 rains. Neither are they legitimate fruit.
You can also look at Revelation 9:6 in the context of the smoke coming up out of pit and darkening the sun (compare to Matthew 24:29). Those who seek death (that is identification with the death of Christ-compare Romans 6:3,4) will not be able to find it.
Again, the Bible teaches from beginning to its end that there is not salvation of the soul taking place in the time of judgment. The time for salvation was always before the judgment come (Zephaniah 2:1-3). Which means that every verse in the Bible that tells us about God's wrath in the time of His final judgment is a Scripture teaching us there's no salvation at that time.
James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
If we were saying comes in a single day and none are saved on that day-many wouldn't have a problem. But since the Bible reveals a prolonged period of time for Judgment Day-people somehow don't get the concept that during the whole time period there will be no salvation.
