Physical & Spiritual (Visible & Invisible)

Your problem when it comes to the Bible and the God of the Bible – is that it and He are both spiritually discerned. And you are fully operating in the natural realm (physics) of observable phenomenon. You will not and cannot except anything of a spiritual nature. And by definition spiritual things are invisible things completely unobservable by any of man's senses.

Your error is in believing that only the physical realm of existence is real. You dismiss the notion that there is a spiritual realm of existence that is just as real as this present physical realm. This is one reason why the Bible would identify you as a natural minded man.

Salvation you see, is new birth (really a resurrection) of the soul of a man. The Word of God is spiritual and in the days when it was sown upon the hearts (souls) of man it had the power to bring forth spiritual life. And once a man's soul was quickened in this way, then he would become alive to spiritual things and spiritual realities (God and His kingdom, etc.). Such an individual now possessed life in two realms of existence. Himself a former unbeliever (by nature), yet now able to see with eyes of understanding things he was never able to see previously. Desirous for his friends to experience the same thing he goes to them and tells them, "There is a God and the Bible really is His Word". But his friends were not changed as he so they continue to deny and dismiss any possibility of spiritual realities. In doing so thinking themselves wise they became fools.

Its all up to God. He will have mercy upon whom He will have mercy (Romans 9:18). And if He does not have mercy man is fully locked in to the only realm of existence he is able to know.

Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
