The Evil Was Foreseen & the Prudent Were Hidden
Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
For some time in advance – God's elect people warned the world (and church) of what was coming just ahead-right in front of them:
May 21, 2011 Judgment Day!
The evil was foreseen. And the elect children of God were hidden by God:
Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
What does it mean to be hidden? The answer is found in:
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Salvation in Christ hides the sinner – from the fierce wrath of God poured out over the course of the prolonged period of Judgment Day.
