The Lord Foretold They Would Not Believe
Esther 7:6 And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.
We know that in the book of Esther, Haman is used by God to represent Satan. As Satan is the adversary and enemy to God and His people.
Now let's compare the verse in Esther 7:6 with:
Lamentations 4:12 The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
They would not have believed that the "adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem". The adversary and the enemy remains a spiritual picture of Satan. And the entering into the gates of Jerusalem spiritually represents the New Testament churches and congregations.
Do you believe that Satan was loosed and entered into the world's churches to overcome them and take his seat as the man of sin (see: Revelation 20:7-9, Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5)? If not, you are fulfilling God's words spoken in Lamentations 4:12.
